Kyrgyzstan celebrates independence, strategic ties with India

On October 17, 2019, a gala reception was held in New Delhi in honor of the 28th anniversary of Independence of the Kyrgyz Republic and also to celebrate the strategic partnership between India and the Central Asian republic.

India and Kyrgyz Republic in June this year raised their bilateral relationship to level of a “strategic partnership” and signed a slew of agreements including on a bilateral investment treaty.

The inaugural event took place in the reception hall of the five-star ITC Maurya Hotel.

The main guest of the event from the Indian Government was the / Minister of State on Ayurveda and Yoga, Mr. Sripad Jesso Naik.

Kyrgyzstan’s envoy to India Ambassador A. Isaev emphasized the achievement of a strategic partnership between the two countries, which was made possible following the results of the visits this year by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic S.Sh. Jeenbekov to India and the Prime Minister of India N. Modi to the Kyrgyz Republic.

The guests were greatly impressed by the performance of the Kambarkan folklore and ethnographic ensemble with the soloist, People’s Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic S. Sadykova and the Ak-Maral state dance ensemble.

During the evening, famous folk melodies, dances and songs performed by both groups were performed. The guests particularly noted the works of “Toy”, “Mash Botu”, “Kyrgyz Jeri”, “Alymkan”, “Chaikama”, “Esindebi” and others.

The highlight of the evening was the delectable Kyrgyz cuisine, presented by chefs from Kyrgyzstan.

In total, the event was attended by over 300 guests, including representatives of Indian ministries and departments, the diplomatic corps, the business community, representatives of the media, and tour operators.
