Relations between India and China are a dialogue between ancient civilizations with a long history of exchanges that resonates even today, a partnership between young nation states that have traversed difficult historical phases and are now preoccupied with addressing the needs of their similarly aspirational societies.

This summit will be of enormous value in changing the framing of China-India relations and their role in building a shared future of humankind, roughly one-third of which lives in these two nations.
