Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh killed in Tehran attack
The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) issued a statement acknowledging the death of its leader Haniyeh.

Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), and his bodyguard were killed in an attack on his Tehran residence, confirmed by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) according to PTI and other media reports. .
The Public Relations Department of the IRGC announced today, Wednesday, July 31, that the attack occurred early Wednesday. An investigation is underway. The IRGC extended condolences to Palestinians, the Muslim world, and the Resistance Front. Hamas attributed the raid to “Israeli” forces, claiming responsibility for Haniyeh’s death.
Haniyeh had attended the inauguration of Iran’s new president Masoud Pezheskian and had met with Iran’s Supreme Leader on Tuesday.
