India successfully test fires new version if Shaurya surface to surface missile

Balasore, October 3, 2020:  India today successfully test-fired a new version of Shaurya surface-to-surface nuclear-capable ballistic missile. The missile has the ability to hit targets at around 800 kms range and has been developed by India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation.

The Shaurya missile is a canister launched hypersonic surface-to-surface tactical missile for use by the Indian Armed Forces. It has a range of 700 to 1,900 km and is capable of carrying a payload of 200kg to 1 ton conventional or nuclear warhead.

Government sources have said that the missile will complement existing class of missile system of the country and will be lighter and easier to operate:l.
