Education with ethos, culture, and tradition – objectives of upcoming student exchange program between India and Israel
MIT-WPU’s exchange program with Israel was proposed by Ms. Eddna Samuel, who has been designated as Advisor International Protocol by MIT_WPU in Israel.
Education with ethos, culture, and tradition, will be the objectives of the upcoming student exchange program between India and Israel.
Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad had laid the foundation of Maharashtra Institute of Technology Pune, India in 1983. He aimed to establish a center for scientific, technological, and spiritual development of the youth, and to promote the ‘Culture of Peace’ through a value-based ‘Universal Education System’.
Presently MIT-World Peace University (MIT-WPU), boasts of 65+ institutions and counts on its rolls more than 50,000 students, describes its objective as one which aims to create a synergy of academics with technology, technology with research, research with industry, industry with economy and economy with social innovation, leading to world peace and positive change in the society. The university strives to be a world class space of intellectual distinction, which creates extensively trained professionals who will stand for eternal human values and world peace as complete global citizens.
At MIT-WPU students from across the world are experiencing a ‘Life transforming curriculum’ in diverse fields of study and professional programs, like Engineering, Medicine, Telecom, Design, and various other courses which is located in Pune – the cultural capital of Maharashtra – a thriving metropolis on the banks of the sere MulaMutha River, surrounded by the scenic Western Ghats.
During the exchange program with Israel, the students, from the MIT-WPU Pune, India will be undergoing experiential learning through a holistic packaging of scientific knowledge, technological education, and spirituality, all of which areessential for harmonious and sustainable development in the world.
Mr. Rahul V. Karad, Executive President of MIT-WPU, has been the key initiator for education programs for the institute’s students to numerous countries like UK, France, Canada, as he believes in expansion of knowledge. The exchange with Israel was proposed by Ms. Eddna Samuel, who has been designated as Advisor International Protocol by MIT_WPU in Israel. Synergizing her knowledge and experience with that of MIT-WPU, Ms. Samuel elaborates that her mission is to ignite young minds by reviving the value systems and culture. She hopes to achievethis through this exchange, which she believes will contribute meaningfully to the cause of world peace, the very cause that led Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad to establish MIT and has been passionately nurtured by Mr. Rahul V. Karad. Quite like the ethos of MIT-WPU, Ms. Samuel too believes that the ‘union of science, religion and spirituality alone will bring peace to mankind’.
Israel is known for its spirit of innovation; as the saying goes, necessity is the mother of all invention and as Israel is located in a region which is rife with tension, the necessity to innovate becomesa priority. With its progressive thoughts Israel has emerged to be popularly known as a ‘start-up nation’ having some of the best start-ups in the world.
“Exchange programs form a significant component of such learning,” continues Samuel, “as partnership with individuals and organizations can support students realize their supreme potential. When students feel motivated and encouraged, they blossom into intelligent and loving human beings, promoting spiritual guidance for spreading peace and happiness in society.”
Details of the program in Israel are still being worked out but it promises to be interesting and well planned, replete with lectures, visits to hi-tech industries, university exchanges and interactions, which will allow them to immerse themselves in the culture of the country. They will be learning about Jewish culture and history and making new friends in Israel. These bonds of friendship and peace are expected to be further cemented when students from Israel will visit India later.
Such exchanges will have a two-fold result. One, they will broaden the mental horizons of the student, which is what all education aims at; and second, it will go a long way in promoting and strengthening the goodwill between India and Israel. The same would also be reciprocated by MIT-WPU for students from Israel to India.
Symbolizing this over-arching message is the MIT Group’s other contribution – the magnificent Dome, which is the world’s largest. An architectural marvel measuring 160 ft. in diameter and 263 ft. in height, which was conceptualized by the group’s Founder President Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad. The dome is named after one of the greatest philosopher saints of the world, Saint Shri Dnyaneshwara and is dedicated to the cause of World Peace. The Prayer Hall and World Peace Library, and was inaugurated by the Vice President of India, Shri. M. Venkaiah Naidu on 2nd October 2018.
On Sunday across the globe the Jewish community will celebrate Rosh Hashanah – the Jewish new year. For the students the year will begin on a note of diversity and friendship.
