Amity University in Tashkent testify to growing India-Uzbekistan academic cooperation
By IAR DeskA press conference was organized by the Museum of Communication History in Uzbekistan devoted to the inauguration of Amity University’s Tashkent branch. The conference deliberated on training areas, opportunities, and selection criteria for university applicants.
In line with the resolution of the President of Uzbekistan, a branch of Indian university Amity University will be opened in Tashkent. The University will train personnel for IT sphere, including software and hardware developers, specialists in artificial intelligence, big data and ICT management.
According to the First Deputy Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan Olimjon Umarov, the new university will be located in Shaykhantakhur district of Tashkent city. Its building is currently being renovated and reconstructed. In the future, it will be equipped with the latest technology.
Education in this university will be conducted in English.
The Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies meanwhile also continued to develop relations and academic cooperation with India’s Jawaharlal Nehru University. Recently the institute hosted a presentation of the monograph “The Poetry of Urdu”, co-authored by Uzbekistan and Indian scholars.
The monograph is the result of a joint research of Dr. Mukhayyo Abdurakhmonova associate professor of Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies and candidate of philological sciences and Dr. Hoja Ikromiddin, professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University of India.
Written in Urdu, the monograph has been published by Brown Book Publications, specializing in the preparation of scientific literature. The book covers in detail the process of formation and gradual development of Urdu poetry from the 13th century to the present day.
The event both noted and is a testimony to the fact that close cooperation and exchanges in science, culture, and education that is taking place between India and Uzbekistan.
