Istanbul hosts trilateral energy meet

Earlier this month, on the 19th of April 2019, aIstanbul hosted a trilateral meeting on energy cooperation between Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and Turkey.
Turkmenistan was represented by Shahym Abdrahmanov, Chairman of the State Corporation “Turkmengeologiya,” Azerbaijan was represented by the Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov, while Turkey was represented by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez.
The meeting discussed issues related to the current state of energy cooperation between the countries andaprospects forffurther cooperation.
The sides noted that such regular trilateral meetings, the documents adopted, as well as the various joint regional interests including the Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey corridor andathe restoration of the Great Silk Road form a strong base for cooperation in trilateral format.
A Join Declaration was signed at the end of the meeting, aimed at widening the present cooperation including the area of renewable sources of energy, energy-efficiency, green technologies, exchange of experience, strengthening of ties between the companies, scientific and research centres, working in the oil and gas industry and the energy sector of the three countries, as well as holding exhibitions, conferences and seminars.
The sides also addressed a joint press-conference.
